Another Strong Season for the Fearless Sunrisers Hyderabad Team
Captained by the feisty Australian David Warner, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team is always up for a fight. This time around also the Hyderabad side fought their way to the playoffs. But they could only reach as far as Qualifier 2, where the Delhi Capitals beat them by 17 runs.
SRH had its ups and downs throughout the season and had to win their last 3 matches to make it to the playoffs. The fearless captain Warner led the charge, and the team managed to perform exceptionally well under pressure. Be it the Warner-Bairstow pair or the Warner-Saha pair; both provided brilliant quick-fire starts to the innings. Manish Pandey at 3 played fearlessly, and at 4, Williamson was as cool as ever. The inclusion of West-Indian all-rounder Jason Holder infused great energy in the SRH camp. Bowling also looked great with Sandeep Sharma swinging the ball both ways at the start. T Natarajan bowled yorkers with great accuracy at the death overs, while Rashid Khan was as good as ever with his magical spells.
Overall, the Sunrisers Hyderabad side showed the fight that we expect of them. Unfortunately, this year they could not win the trophy. Warner and his boys will be pumped up to win the IPL trophy next year. The orange army will surely keep backing their team and hope that they repeat the glory of 2016.

Captain David Warner led from the front as he always does. The energy and positivity that he brought in the powerplay provided a great start to the innings. He took on the bowlers while also being sensible about the shot selection. He would have loved to score more runs in qualifier 2, but nevertheless, he ended the season with 548 runs.
- Manish Pandey:
Warner had the freedom to go and play his natural game because he knew he had the likes of Manish Pandey at number 3. Pandey didn’t disappoint his captain and scored 425 runs throughout the season. He played according to the situation of the game and took his team over the winning line in the crucial games.
- Jonny Bairstow:
Some tactical changes saw Jonny Bairstow miss some matches at the end of the season. But in the 11 matches that he played, he scored 345 runs. Bairstow, along with Warner, provided great impetus to the innings. He played some outrageous innings and brought the opposition bowlers to their knees. If he continues the same form, we can expect SRH to be at least in the playoffs in the coming season of the IPL.
